GIFT hosted a New Year Cocktail Reception on 24 January 2008, to celebrate its achievements of the past year. Taking place at the YWCA Headquarters in Hong Kong, the event featured The Honorable Anson Chan, GBM, JP, Legislative Council member of the Hong Kong SAR as guest of honor. The event was attended by over 100 supporters from diverse industry sectors. The YWCA Hong Chi Garden View Lounge venue was specially chosen to support the training programme being run on the premises for mentally handicapped young people.
